Abdoulaye Mbengue

Abdoulaye Mbengue has over 20 years of international business management experience spanning the United States, Africa and the Middle East.  Mr. Mbengue is a Certified Executive Coach, and a facilitator and trainer on the latest management tools and techniques with a focus on leadership development, strategic management, and team building.  He has completed projects for both public and private sector entities across a broad range of industries.    

Mr. Mbengue is an expert in export promotion, international trade, and private sector development.  He has proven experience in business and market analysis and identifying barriers to market development.  He served as the Market Analyst at General Motors where he participated in various global studies, and performed competitive analysis and forecasting for the African and Middle Eastern markets.

Additionally, Mr. Mbengue served as the principal advisor to the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Senegal where he aided in the development of programs to increase exports and foreign direct investment, and provided advice on necessary trade and investment policy reforms.  Mr. Mbengue contributed to the design of the African Union strategic plan, and participated in the assessment and enhancement of the New Economic Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) program.

Mr. Mbengue has developed and implemented training programs for government agencies in the US and Africa targeting primarily micro and small and medium-sized enterprises, and women entrepreneurs.  Mr. Mbengue also provides international executive coaching for leaders of small companies to multinational Fortune 500 organizations.  He is fluent in English, French, and Wolof.

Mr. Mbengue is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership, and holds a Master in Applied Economics degree with a focus on International Business and Strategy from the University of Michigan (USA) and a Master of Business Management from University Cheikh Anta Diop (Senegal).
